My half-brother -- who reads as much manga and watches as much anime as I do, if not more -- called me a while back to ask me if I would be interested in going to Japan with him, and whether I would be able to save up the thousand-some-odd dollars for the plane ticket. Well, seeing as I am currently unemployed, I was pretty sure I wouldn't be able to scrape the money together, so I was kinda disappointed about it. Also, he was talking about going with a friend -- a guy friend -- and my parents did not like that idea at all.
He called me again today to say that he might be able to get two tickets for six hundred dollars apiece, and wanted to know if I could save up that much. I've been doing odd jobs for my aunts and they've been paying me quite generously, so I think I may be able to save up that much if I work really hard. He also said that the aforementioned friend would not be going, as they apparently did something to upset him -- something they had done before, so my half-brother decided that was the last straw. So I'm really excited about it now, because there seems to be a much greater chance that I'll be able to go.
However, he said he's not sure if he will be able to get those tickets or not, and I also asked him if he could get three tickets, since I'm hoping our brother can come, but he said he'd have to ask the person he's getting the tickets from. I'd like for my big brother to come with us if at all possible, but I'd hate for him to have to save up to pay full price when we're getting bargain tickets.
I have no idea when the trip might be, and no idea where we'd go when we got there, but I'm still really looking forward to it, and hoping our plans don't fizzle as they have done so many times in the past.
